Who We Are

At the heart of every good meal are simple ingredients grown in the garden.

Ravenwoods story began as many farm stories do- sitting around a table. So many of our stories, celebrations, big moments (and small), as well as our most cherished memories tend to be centered around food. And yet, vegetables have always been seen as the underdog.

But what if we changed the lens on vegetables? What if there was a way to show that simple food, such as vegetables, can be good and flavourful?

It’s not just about the vegetable. it is about what it can become.

We are passionate about good food, its origin and how to bring simple ingredients grown from the garden, into the kitchen.

This is the heart behind Ravenwoods Farmstead: to grow simple and sustainable produce, whilst providing inspiration on how to get creative in the kitchen.

Since 2020, we have been cultivating a growing space that not only supports the plants we grow and the trees we tap, but also take into account the surrounding landscape and wildlife, ensuring that the whole system is supported each step of the way.

After all… everything is connected.

Meet Your Growers

Ravenwoods Farmstead is a family owned business, run by Fern Ritchie and Colin Cordell.

Fern is the heart and captain of Ravenwoods. She is responsible for planning and overseeing the management of the gardens, logistics and all things business. Behind all the weekly markets, pizzas, orders, photography and communication, you will find Fern wielding her magic and making things happen.

Despite needing to take a step back in order to go back to school, Colin is an integral part of Ravenwoods. He is responsible for the management, building and care of infrastructure, the powerhouse behind our maple syrup production and can often be found helping in the gardens during his time off, or creating unique projects utilizing the abundance of granite that also “grows” in our soil.
